   Software: Garageband

   Recorded on three tracks on Garageband with a laptop and portable recording interface, this chant with accompaniment on the ipu (gourd) and ohe hano ihu (bamboo nose flute) was done with a minimum of fuss. Vocalist Haumea adds his three plus decades of professional experience to the nuances of sound and pronounciation of Hawaiian terms. The simple nose flute offers an interesting backdrop of tones, gently teased forth by the touch of the fingertips to the three puka (holes) atop the bamboo instrument. The delicate and simple interplay between vocalist, percussionist and flute player has the potential to briefly transport the listener to an alternative plane of experience.
