This exclusive 3 day program offers an introduction to teaching philosophy & methods, health communication, and planning.

This program is an important step for each aspiring instructor of lomilomi. In addition to methods of learning (student), we also show you methods of teaching (instructor).

Curriculum development and course implementation are aspects of the professional instructor which are not learned by students of lomilomi. A trained lomi instructor is much more experienced and capable than a person whose only prior experience has been as a student.

  • An optional teaching assistant module is available for our Hawai’i, California and Japan training programs. Includes: instruction and certificate. A FULL COLOR-illustrated training manual and a video of lomilomi techniques is available.
  • Advance enrollment is required. See below for more details.
  • Optionally, get certified from the Hawaiian Lomilomi Association. Please contact us for more information.

Level Two - A: Clinical Lomilomi

During this five day program, we introduce you to the most commonly affected muscle disorders across the body, their sites of injuries and trigger points, and train you to use Long Life Lomilomi techniques for therapeutic massage and stretches.  We currently have two layers of training for this second level of medical massage.

This first layer A introduces the concepts of injury and healing, existence and location of trigger points, and adjunctive methods of care.

The second layer (Level Two - B) continues to examine the body for additional sites of injury and location of trigger points, with additional techniques and methods for care. This second layer of skill development includes twice the number of muscles and points compared to the first layer.

LOMI STICKS

“The lomi stick is the symbol of self-care.” Kumulomi Dane Silva

The humble lomi stick is one of the oldest tools used by humans since prehistoric times. Used to balance and support the body during walking along trails, up and down steep paths, or to carry personal items or food, the stick is very versatile. It can be used for hunting small game and birds, when used as a projectile over short distances.

The lomi stick of today can be used to self-massage the entire body into a state of balance and bliss. The trained lomi stick practitioner can also use it to mobilize each of the joints of the spine and extremities to enhance structure and function of the body. No one should have to live in modern society without their own personal healing stick, made in Hawai’i from sustainable sources of wood.

Sticks vary in size: small, medium and large. Prices range from $45. to $75. based on design, finish and size. Each differing size has a distinct function; which is why we love to have more than one near at hand. Contact us by email for more details on ordering a lomi stick for yourself or a loved one.

A small handbook describing the lomi stick, its usage and history will be available soon.
